It was a Corporal (E-4), leader of the Quebec Company and Team 17, the Green Army’s Quebec Company Commandos.

Gavin, along with his Team 17, were the first sent to confront Major Malfunction.

Contact was lost with the entire team, and both they and Gavin were declared MIA. Nothing was ever heard from them again, nor were their bodies ever found.
