The legendary Norse god of lightning, Thor, wields this powerful hammer

The hammer was created when Loki challenged two dwarves, Brokkr and Eitri, to create objects more beautiful than those created by the Children of Ivaldi (one of the frost giants according to Medieval World’s Norse mythology). The dwarf brothers were successful, despite Loki’s intervention, although the handle was shorter than expected. The hammer was so powerful that it could not be destroyed and would return to Thor every time he threw it.
