Madd’s castle was for a long time his concentration camp and secret laboratory for his experiments.

Called “Castle of Maddstein” in the past, during the Great Grey War, this castle is a foreboding fortress filled with traps, secret laboratories, and bizarre experiments, led by Dr. Grey. This castle was later a testament of Dr. Grey’s apprentice, Dr. Madd, the new twisted genius, with its dark corridors and eerie atmosphere. I it’s best time, the castle’s defenses were formidable, featuring automated turrets, hidden pitfalls, and a legion of loyal plastic toy soldiers ready to defend their master’s lair. It’s a place where science and madness intertwine, creating a perilous environment for any intruder.

Being located in the mainland area, where Alpine ends and the frozen zone begins, the castle suffers terrible snowfalls and snowstorms for much of the year, in addition to the fact that most of the time it is night, and the daylight illuminates for a very short time.

1. The Original Dr. Madd’s Castle: first introduced in Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2, this castle plays a crucial role in the storyline. The castle was a dark and ominous fortress filled with monsters, traps and hazards. As Sarge and his team navigate through the castle, they encounter numerous challenges, including automated defenses, giant Spiders and Tan soldiers.

One of the key missions involved infiltrating Dr. Madd’s castle to stop his nefarious plans. The castle was equipped with advanced technology and experimental weaponry, making it a formidable stronghold. Sarge must use his wits and combat skills to overcome these obstacles and reach Dr. Madd’s inner sanctum. The castle’s labyrinthine design add to the tension, making it one of the most memorable and challenging parts of the campaign.

2. Castle of Maddstein (Medieval World) In the Medieval World, Dr. Madd’s castle it’s not his castle. The legacy takes on a more ancient and mystical form as the Castle of Maddstein. This medieval version of the castle is constructed from stone and wood, with towering battlements and a moat filled with enchanted waters. The castle is rumored to be haunted by spirits, and its halls are lined with ancient alchemical equipment and magical artifacts. Knights and mythical creatures guard the castle, making it a formidable stronghold in the Medieval World. The Castle of Maddstein is a place where medieval science meets dark sorcery, and its secrets are coveted by many.

3. The Buried Castle (Future World/Space World) In the Future World, also known as Space World, Dr. Madd’s castle (know there as the abandoned buried castle) has been buried beneath the sprawling metropolis of Future City. Over centuries, the castle has been entombed under layers of technological advancement and urban development. Now known as the Buried Castle, it lies hidden in the underground, a relic of a bygone era. The castle’s once formidable defenses have been augmented with futuristic technology, that fell or arrived there in some way, creating a labyrinth of cybernetic traps and robotic guardians. The Buried Castle is a place of mystery and danger, where the past and future collide. It serves as a reminder of a possible Dr. Madd’s enduring influence, even in a world dominated by advanced technology.

4. The Floating Castle (Twisted World) There are conflicting reports about a castle seen on a floating rock in the void of nowhere, in the Twisted World. But none of those reports were confirmed officially.

Connecting the Castles

Despite the differences in time and setting, all three versions of Dr. Madd’s castle share common similarities. Themes of innovation, danger, and the blending of science with darker elements too. Each castle reflects the era it inhabits, from the medieval enchantments of Maddstein to the high-tech defenses of the Buried Castle. These fortresses are not just physical structures but symbols of Dr. Madd’s relentless pursuit of knowledge and power, transcending time and space.
