He was the leader of the Green Forces. He knew the glory and pain of battle
“War is unavoidable”
– Colonel Grimm during the beginning of the Air Attack conflicts
The heroic military leader of the Green Nation, Colonel Grimm was a respected old soldier who has spent a lifetime holding back the Tan menace. He is a gruff, tough veteran of the old days when most soldiers were wood or tin (in the Human World). He’s a lifer as were all the men in the Grimm family who made it to Colonel status. The Colonel has suffered numerous tragedies fighting the Tan Menace and from these tragedies, Grimm has become a solemn man who never smiles. Colonel Grimm is the master tactician of the Green Army and Sarge’s mentor.
Commander of the Green Army and master military tactician, his dedication and service to the Green nation are legendary. Grimm also serves as mentor to Sgt. Hawk and Captain Blade, and he is also Vikki’s father. The Colonel raised Sarge Hawk like his own son.
Serving as the commander of Bravo Company, Col. Grimm hopes that Sarge will one day marry his daughter, Vikki. Col. Grimm knows that this won’t happen until peace is once again restored in Plastic World.
Nobody knows why he was called like that. He never told anybody. But we can now speculate. Things that are gloomy, stark, ghastly, and somber are grim. Sunshine, puppies, and rainbows are not grim; zombies, reapers, and mummies are grim. Less scary things like drizzly, foggy days can also be called grim.
So we can assume that this was a military appointment that infers a certain event, given under certain circumstances or thanks to something that characterized him when he was a Soldier on the front line.
But, the most interesting is that among humans the Grim Reaper is the personification of death. Death is frequently imagined as a personified force. In some human mythologies, a character known as the Grim Reaper (usually a skeletal figure, who is often shrouded in a dark, hooded robe and carrying a scythe to “reap” human souls) causes the victim’s death by coming to collect person’s soul.
For thousands of years, various human cultures have had figures to represent death. One of the most common and enduring of these is the Grim Reaper. But how and when did this imagery come to be associated with death?
The Grim Reaper seems to have appeared in human continent “Europe” during their 14th century. It was during this time that humans were dealing with what was then the world’s worst thing, a pandemic, the Black Death, believed to be the result of a plague, one more “disease” of this type of problems that humans suffer from.
Colonel Grimm is suspicious of experimenting on plastic soldiers and prefers to fight his battles the old-fashioned way. But during his time he allowed a few bioplastic PDNA experiments, starting with salvaging plastic soldiers from death augmenting them into Super Soldiers, like the case of Sgt. Hawk, Scorch, Riff, Thick, Shrap, Hoover and Bullseye, finishing with the creation of th Omega Soldier, 100% created from scratch was a new breed Super Soldier.

Colonel Grimm speech
“All right, listen up soldiers! The Tan aggressors are on the move and we’re gonna stop ’em dead in their tracks. We have sent several scouts out to gather recon on the Tans’ movements. So far, none have returned. We can only hope those scouts aren’t danglin’ over a candle right now.”
“The Alpha Wolf Battalion is the most lethal force ever assembled. You have been hand picked for this task because we know you’re the best of the best. Your orders are simple, find the enemy and blow the living tar out of every last one of them! Am I making myself clear, soldiers?! Let’s go melt some plastic!”
