The standard rifle of the Army Men for years until the early 2010s
“Sure, the rifle may seen boring, but without this little baby you won’t live long enough to get fun playtoys like bazookas and mortars” – Sarge
The M-16 is the standard issue weapon for all new plastic recruits. This 0,556 mm rifle not only does provide adequate protection and firepower, its ability to be fired on the run as well as from any position makes this a great weapon. Aim your weapon using the gunsight for best results.
Army Men M-16 in history
The M16 rifle, also called AR-15 (semi-automatic rifle based on or similar to it), was a compressed air propelled plastic assault rifle developed by the Green army in the late 1950s. The rifle received high marks for its light weight, its accuracy, and the volume of fire that it could provide. Helped to win the war in the hands of the Green army after the other military nations rejected this design in favor of the M14.

Although they are no longer officially in active service, some can still be seen in the Plastic World, the only place where they still have some firepower. Currently, compared to its predecessors and especially metal weapons, the M16 (being made of plastic) causes much less damage.

M16A2 – Sarge Hawk’s Favorite
The M16A2 became one of the most recognizable and respected weapons in the arsenal of the Green Army, largely due to its close association with Sergeant Hawk. While the earlier M16A1 had been widely issued to standard troops, it was Hawk’s personal preference for the A2 variant that elevated its reputation among the Army Men.
Unlike the A1, the M16A2 featured improved accuracy, stronger materials, and a redesigned sight system, making it more effective at medium-to-long range engagements. But visually, the A2 it’s more streamlined and detailed than A1, making it visually outstanding. Its three-round burst fire mode gave elite soldiers better ammunition control compared to the fully automatic A1, which often wasted precious plastic rounds in suppressive fire.
Hawk’s battlefield experience and leadership made the M16A2 the weapon of choice for veteran units and elite squads. For many Green soldiers, carrying an A2 was not just about firepower… it symbolized discipline, skill, and the confidence to take on tougher missions. Stories circulated in the ranks about Hawk’s precision shots and his ability to turn the tide of skirmishes with his M16A2, further fueling its prestige.

Over time, the weapon became synonymous with elite training. Recruits who demonstrated exceptional marksmanship or tactical sense were often rewarded with the opportunity to wield an M16A2, marking their transition into the Army’s more experienced fighting forces.
For the common Green soldier, the A2 remained a weapon to aspire to, a reminder that skill and dedication could elevate them beyond the standard-issue rifle. And for Hawk himself, the M16A2 was not just a tool of war, but a symbol of leadership and legacy within the Green Army.
Variants
Metal M16A2, the same weapon but in metal alloys

Behind the Scenes:
Although this rifle will be available during Army Men Revolution, it will actually be a very weak weapon, since it is a very old weapon, made of plastic and it’s not comparable to metal weapons and those of the latest technology. Will be a weak weapon compared to other weapons in the other universes, like the Real World. But will be a powerful / normal weapon in the Plastic World. Weapons from other worlds will stop working in the Plastic World eventually, or will be nerfed.
