Major Gooding, Col. Grimm best officer

Once a loyal Major to the Green Nation, After Sarge’s disappearance, Gooding emerged to be his logical and natural replacement in Green Army.

His last mission was in the Real World. He and a small squad had just reached their exfil point when they were ambushed by the Tan. Gooding was shot three times. Of him only an arm was left in the ground, which could never be recovered anyway, since Surely Army recovered all the plastic of the battle to recycle it.

“Bravo to Tango, Bravo to Tango, we need some heat down there, fast!. Grid Square Foxtrot Three. We can’t hold out much longer!” – Private Hawk

Who at that time was a soldier, Hawk, watched helplessly how every unit in his squad was killed, except for him. He called an airstrike and when the helicopter arrived he proceeded to board the Huey and leave the area.
Behind the scenes:

The truth events of Sarge’s War
The true events of Sarge’s War, those leading up to it and its subsequent consequences, are unknown to the Army Men and the Toyverse, except, of course (and only partially), to some of those involved. These events are partly unknown and partly suppressed by the Green Army to protect the nation from eventualities such as maintaining the image of certain national figures, the integrity of its institutions, and other considerations in the public eye.
An example of this is how Hawk’s transformation into Major Malfunction is kept secret, much like how Harvey Dent is portrayed as a self-sacrificing hero in The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, when in reality he became a villain, Two-Face…
So here are the real FMVs of the game, the ones above being modified or edited to maintain this narrative.
