The first Plastro’s infernal machines from the Real World.
“When Plastro wants destruction on a grand scale, he doesn’t send soldiers—he sends machines.”
Plastro used these giant toy robots for his evil bidding. Equipped with chaingun arms, they also emit flame bursts from their armored mid-sections.
They were first seen in the Sarge’s Heroes campaign, extending their service into Sarge’s Heroes 2 and beyond. They were also called Super Robots in Sarge’s Heroes 2.
Official name: V-Bot (also known as Super Robot)
First appearance: Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes (1999)
Faction: Tan Army
Type: Heavy robotic unit
The V-Bot is one of General Plastro’s most fearsome weapons. Built from a mix of plastic and tin, this vintage-style juggernaut is no outdated toy. It’s a walking fortress, equipped with functional lights, motion systems, and internal electronics that give it surprising mobility and autonomy.
While its design channels retro tin robots of the 1950s, its battlefield presence is anything but nostalgic.
Key Features:
- Dual Chainguns: Mounted on both arms, these high-speed machine guns are its primary attack method, making it deadly at mid to long range.
- Chest-Mounted Flamethrower: Integrated into its torso, this weapon is devastating at close quarters. However, its short range makes it ineffective once the V-Bot is disarmed.
- Reinforced Armor: Resistant to standard weapons, requiring concentrated firepower to damage.
- Advanced Electronics: Outfitted with systems controlling movement, lights, and combat functions.
- Critical Weakness: Its arm-mounted weapons. Once disabled, the V-Bot becomes almost harmless, relying solely on its short-range flamethrower.
Historic Presence:
The first V-Bot ever fought was seen in Air Attack, confronted by William Blade, Sarge Hawk, and the Air World Battalion at the end of the campaign. This first version was definitely the most powerful.
Appearing in both events, Sarge’s Heroes and Sarge’s Heroes 2, the V-Bot stands as a major obstacle in high-stakes missions. It is most notably used to defend Plastro’s Portals, and on the beach perimeters of Fort Plastro, serving as a mechanical guardian against the Green Army’s advances. Tactical play and heavy weapons are essential to bring one down.
