Before becoming a Nation, the Grays were under the power of a totalitarian and autocratic regime
Called “Grey Empire” they fell on the shoulders of a leader more monarchical in style than the classic de facto leader. But surely, all this was a cover for a totalitarian regime that came to power by manipulating its people, creating the perfect conditions for the same population to ask for this leader to come to power.
This regime was the one that ruled that the colored armies (Red, Blue and Yellow) were impure plastic men and that they should disappear, catapulting the Great Gray World War.
But that didn’t end well, and they ended up being defeated.
Resurgence
Just after Lord Malice’s terrorist attack shook the Green Nation and killed the leader of the Tan Nation, Plastro, the Gray Empire took advantage of the circumstances to re-emerge from a remote corner of the Real World, after years of preparation, to consummate their revenge against the armies of the Plastic World, including the Gray Nation. But although they easily managed to defeat the Tan Army and recover their former territories, the reality was that they could not overcome the Green Army, despite the absence of Colonel Grimm and Sarge Hawk himself, who had disappeared.
