Real behind the game facts
Army Men: Major Malfunction, was the second Army Men game developed by Team17 and published by Global Star Software for Xbox and PlayStation 2, it was going to serve as an reboot of the series but its negative reception and sales caused those plans to be cancelled.
Major Malfunction (A nod to the movie Full Metal Jacket, where the drill instructor asks one of the characters “What is your Major Malfunction, numbnuts?”). The game received largely negative reviews, although graphically it is regarded as the “best looking” game in the series.
The game is also notable for having a significantly more comedic tone than prior game, with nearly all the villain characters being based on puns and/or pop culture characters relevant at the time of the games release, such as Kill Bill, Transformers, HALO and G.I Joe rather than the traditional villain’s common to the Army Men series.
