The greatest mystery of the Toykind existence
The Real World, also known as the Parallel Dimension, the Other World, the Human World or the Big World is a different world that exists parallel to the Plastic World, to which the Army Men travel using mysterious Portals.
This world, like the Plastic World, is made up of different gigantic continents separated by even more larger bodies of water. Many different types of carbon-based life forms live on each continent, one being animals, and among them humans, the intelligent and developed namesake of the Army Men in their world. These became extinct, disappearing completely in a seemingly unexpected way. These lived in societies divided into countries (China, United States and many more), just like the Army Men.
Apparently the Real World was called by humans “planet Earth”, which is round and floats in “sidereal space”, a giant empty space where there are some other planets floating between immense and incommensurable distances from each other.
The Real World is first seen during the Army Men campaign, when Sarge enters through a mysterious door in the middle of nowhere, next to a Cemetery. This door was called “Portal” by other actors of this events. As the initial name “Big World” suggests, the locations in the Real World are based on the real Plastic World, but way bigger (approx. 72 to 1 in scale).

Since the Army Men campaign, there was a progression regarding the importance of the Real World in the existence of the Army Men and all Toykind as a whole. The big changes came mainly from the Tan Republic regular campaigns to siphon materials and weapons from this Big World, to use them in their war against the other Nations in the Plastic World, the more to destroy the Green Nation. And eventually, General Plastro expressed an interest in realizing over the much larger Real World. However, dangers such as Plastrification, Animals, Insects and other pests, and the deadly weather conditions inhibited Plastro’s rule over the Real World.
The Real World AKA Big World in history:
Army Men
During the ending of the campaign, Sarge enters a portal and is dumped into a Real World kitchen. According to newspapers, he goes missing as a result.
Army Men II
After Sarge comes back from the Real World, this parallel dimensions started to play a vital role in the Army Men history, as the Tan Republic has been researching portals that lead to the Real World, as well as siphoning materials and technology to use in their war against the Green Nation. Sarge and his squad take portals leading to, and from, the Real World in order to disrupt the Tan Republic’s schemes.
Army Men: Toys in Space
Outside of the missions revolving around visiting Tina Tomorrow’s homeworld, every mission in Army Men: Toys in Space takes place in the Real World.
More of the same, but new locations were visited and new objects were seen. In these times, there was always a search to eliminate the next super weapon that Plastro could find in that world.
Army Men: Air Tactics
This campaign was another back and forth between the Plastic World and the Real World, but the most important events were the monsters created by Dr. Madd, plastic hybrids and beings from the Real World, such as Insects.

Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes
The Green Nation is largely unfamiliar with the Real World, or at least that’s what it seems like to the general public. But the Tan Republic has vast research on the area, considering General Plastro longed to rule over the Real World, as well as utilizing “death rays” to execute captured Green soldiers. Plastro found his perfect weapons supplier: the Human World
Army Men: Air Attack
These events involved round trips between both worlds to stop the import of weapons from the Real World into the Plastic World by the Tan Army, but with the particularity that the Green Army, although numerically inferior, had a better and more fluid use of the Portals, demonstrating the Alpha Wolf Battalion had excellent piloting capabilities.
Army Men: Air Attack 2
The combat scenarios during these events were some of the most varied and exotic ever seen, even later. Battles on a larger scale with a greater variety of weapons, especially Real World toys used to attack the Greens, ranging from Large Dinosaurs, Dolls and Wind-up Dogs. On this occasion it was the Tan who demonstrated their equally superior aerial capabilities with their air force commander Von Beige.
Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2
The Real World played a crucial role in the sequel to Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes events, and with it came a devastating effect to plastic soldiers: Plastrification.
The forces that were pushing them gradually abandoned them, little by little their limbs became increasingly stiff, until finally they became completely inert.
It was then known that spending too much time in that world would cause the Army Men to stop being living toys and become just another inanimate plastic sculpture. This was solved with serums and vaccines, although some eventually developed a natural immunity. Later, the Army Men were simply molded already vaccinated from the moment they were produced.
Army Men: Green Rogue
Although these events took place in Plastic World, Soldier Omega had to deal with several super weapons and new Tan military leader toys, which meant that from then on, Plastro and his new weapons were put on hold in Plastic World. Eventually, Omega did not allow any toys from other worlds, which tipped the balance in favor of the Greens and their allies in that world.
Army Men Advance
The Plastro’s Tan Army planned to dominate the world using Alien technology. Not just the Green Nation, but this would affect both the Plastic World and the Real World. The Advance campaign missions were fought on both worlds. But Plastro’s secret base, Area 41, was on the Plastic World. Riff was rescued in the Real World, and Scorch was found there as well.
Army Men: Sarge’s War
Sgt. Hawk travels between the Real World and the Plastic World during the early missions of the game.
Lord Malice had his secret HQ in the Real World, in an old house Sgt. Hawk visited in the past when was under the command of Major Gooding, the same place where Gooding died.
Army Men: Major Malfunction
The entire campaign against Major Malfunction took place in the Real World. Its protagonist, a plastic soldier from the New Generation of Army Men molds was part of the Green Expeditionary Force in that world.
The Real World today
Years later, culminating in the present day, the Big World began to be called the Real World after the joint research force of the Army Men alliance came to the conclusion that beyond not really knowing how, there is no doubt that this giant world is actually where the Army Men come from. Every archaeological discovery in the Plastic World always points to that, without a doubt. In addition to plastic dating that is older, records left by now extinct Humans also support this hypothesis.
The humans
The mysterious and perplexing Real World was the realm of the Human race, the enigmatic beings who once inhabited their world. Through meticulous research and collaboration with esteemed scientists, we aim to shed light on their existence, unravel their secrets, and understand their abrupt disappearance.
Humans, the gigantic beings that inhabited this world, seem to be now extinct. From the sector of scientific experts on the subject there are no doubts about this. But in the civil imagination the thought is different. It is undoubtedly an extremely large world, to the point that no one can imagine how much. So plastic people tend to think that they still exist somewhere. Some even imagine that The Maker, whoever created the Army Men, are Humans themselves. But this is unlikely, since everything indicates that it was a superior mind, outside of Army Men and Human understanding. Humans cannot even explain their existence or know who their creator is. Some of them even theorized that they were a mere accident. But there is no doubt about how they disappeared: they self-destructed.
Their destruction was because of their internal confrontations, fights between nations, colors and beliefs. But apparently the main thing was his greed to obtain more power and his disdain for the care of his natural resources.
This was apparently some time ago, as descriptions and film archives show a devastated world, which has apparently now its original nature has been restored. Although the fauna seems to be still scarce.
It is for this reason that the Army Men conflicts in the Plastic World came to an end: Plastic beings came to the conclusion that they would end up like Humans.
Although the conflicts are still far from over, at least the Plastic World is on the right path. What is still far from understood by the collective intelligence of the Plastic World is how changes work in the Real World.
Changes have been documented in the Real World, for which the reason is not yet known with certainty. Aesthetic and position of the objects that are part of this world changes often. But it is believed to be a natural process that only Humans could explain, so common and rooted in their extinct nature that they have not even bothered to document. But apparently everything happens while these locations are not observed by any Army Men or Toykind.

The composition of the Real World
Plastic for humans was a material that has once been considered demonic because it does not belong to any of the three kingdoms of their supposed “nature of the Real World” (animals, vegetables and minerals) but was produced artificially by themselves from the refining of a chemical called “oil,” which forms deep in the Real World as a byproduct of the decay of long-dead carbon life forms.
This world made the Plastic World pale, making it look extremely simple and basic in comparison. While the Plastic World is composed of a few different types of plastic, the Real World is composed not only of these, but of an infinite number of different material forms.
But any inanimate plastic object that is brought back (using the Portal) from this Giant World into the Plastic World becomes animate. But this didn’t happen with other materials.
While in the Plastic World everything takes too long to decompose or disappear naturally, there are things in the Real World that take a very short time to disintegrate, in an almost magical way. Even the tissue of which the “living beings” are composed, the different animals of this world, when going through a process of gradual decomposition, these finally die without any reason or destruction, and end up disintegrating more quickly, integrating their components of back in the chemical broth of his world. Even the remains of living beings are devoured in the process, as one more component of this recycling puzzle.
They call this process “mortality”, a process similar to how the Army Men disintegrated, but they rarely reached that point without first dying in some conflict, being destroyed or melt. It is for this reason that practically no Human traces are supposed to be found. These are supposed to have disappeared in this recycling process.
As some of his gigantic written documents say, “everything that exists, existed or will exist will be transformed into something else when it dies.” This means that when a living being dies and is devoured or returned to the earth, other living beings such as animals and plants will benefit from this energy transformation process, obtaining the matter they need to continue with their processes of transforming matter into energy.
Real World Embassies
The Toyverse thrives on the belief that every toy has a soul, a tiny spark of magic. So in the Real World, the world that ties all toys to a common origin, is so bigger that contains a few “embasies” from the other worlds, officially recognized by some toykinds and some of this worlds. So if any toy stranded in the Human World in need of help, like a discarded action figure or a half-buried dinosaur, now toys know that they have an embassy to allocate and obtain any help they need.
The Prehistoric Domain:
- Here, the grassy plains echo with the roars of plastic dinosaurs. Tiny T-Rexes chase after elusive triceratops, while pterodactyls soar above the sandbox cliffs. This is the Real World prehistoric embassy for Prehistoric animals.
The Jurassic Valley:
- Bounty Hunter Butterscotch discovered a secret entrance in one of the pyramids discovered by Vikki Grimm in the Prehistoric World, and there is where this embassy is located, out of reach of the Dinosaurs, underground.
The Medieval Enclave:
- Within the shadow of Camelot Castle, toy knights don their plastic and metal armor. Big noble steeds, wooden rocking horses, gallop soaring across the plains (without moving anywhere). There, next to the Round Table, is the embassy. Sometimes King Arthur himself passes by to talk to the toys in need.
- Dragons, crafted from green felt and googly eyes, guard treasure chests filled with marbles and shiny buttons, used for the embassy fortifications.
The Cosmic Expanse:
- In the outer space from the Real World, The Great Plastic Meteor floats in a stable orbit. A space station has been set up there that serves as a space port for toys.
- Astronauts (action figures or other toys with makeshift helmets) embark on daring missions. Sometimes their rocket ships, constructed from cardboard tubes and glitter, blast off toward the ceiling, exploding into a thousand pieces… because of course, if they do not hit the ceiling, as soon as they reach a considerable height they dismantle with the high speed of winds. But sometimes, and only sometimes, a toy is smart enough to build a resistant and aerodynamic rocket that allows them to reach the upper atmosphere to put their spacecrafts into orbit.
- The Alien figurines that populates The Great Plastic Meteor station, with wiggly arms and neon-green skin, communicate in cryptic beeps. But they exchange intergalactic stickers as tokens of friendship.
The Underwater Abyss:
- Beneath the bathroom sink of the former Lord Malice’s HQ household, lies the mysterious Underwater Abyss embassy. Rubber duckies double as submarines, exploring the depths of the porcelain to find the way to the open sea.
- There, on the coral reefs (made from discarded sponges) shelter schools of plastic fish, lies the underwater embassy. It is guarded by a well-known superhero action figure who is in charge of toy rescues and a large fleet of Army Men submarines that patrol the perimeter.
- There elusive red haired Mermaid Chickz occasionally surfaces, combing her hair with a toothbrush.
The Toybox Nexus:
- The heart of the Toyverse (the Toybox Nexus) connects all these realms. It’s a swirling vortex of imagination, where forgotten toys gather to share stories.
- Here, a wind-up robot dances with a plush teddy bear, and a RC car races against a wind-up snail. The Nexus thrums with creative energy and it’s the place where all those toys that are left halfway through an interdimensional journey go, whatever the reason for this happening is.
Population problems solved
Many plastic civilians from the Plastic World have moved to the Real World. Therefore there is no real population problems in the Plastic World now. Some even say that it feel empty sometimes.
Some Real World stories & locations
The Forgotten Toy Box:
Deep within an attic lies the Forgotten Toy Box, a treasure trove of lost playthings. The Army Men embarked on a daring mission to retrieve missing action figures, toppled Blocko Bricks structures, and abandoned Die Cast cars. Beware the dust bunnies and unraveling jump ropes, they’re more dangerous than they seem.
The Garden of Miniature Giants:
In a backyard, where blades of grass become towering forests, the Army Men faces off against colossal ladybugs, menacing ants, and territorial garden gnomes. Their mission: to restore balance and prevent the oversized dandelions from taking over.
The Crayon Canyon:
Picture a vibrant canyon carved by melted crayons. The Army Men rappels down waxen cliffs, navigating rainbow-colored rivers. Their objective? To retrieve the legendary Golden Crayon, said to bring creativity to life. But beware the Crayon Bandits, they’re always plotting colorful heists.
The Titanic Maker:
Sarge once took a portal to the Real World which left him on a table for building scale models. There he saw the abandoned remains of several models halfway through assembly, taking a look at The Maker’s factory, where the magic of manufacturing happened. Rulers and measuring instruments, paint, glue, stickers… the instruments of manufacturing scattered everywhere. After fighting the Tan, he managed to escape from the place through a Portal hidden inside a scale model of the Titanic, one of the most memorable Human catastrophes in his history.
The Puzzle Palace:
Within a living room, the Army Men infiltrates the Puzzle Palace, where jigsaw pieces form labyrinthine corridors. Each room holds a different puzzle—some missing critical pieces. Their quest: to reunite the scattered fragments and restore order to the chaotic mosaic.
The Sock Drawer Abyss:
The sock drawer isn’t what it seems. It’s a portal to a mysterious realm where mismatched socks gain sentience. The Army Men parachutes in, armed with clothespins and lint rollers. Their mission: to unravel the secrets of the missing sock pairs and prevent a sock rebellion.
The Blocko Bricks Wastelands:
Beyond the playroom lies a desolate landscape, the Blocko Bricks Wastelands. Here, broken Blocko Bricks creations and abandoned minifigures roam. The Army Men scavenges for spare bricks, battles rogue Blocko Bricks dragons, and seeks the mythical Super Glue Brick to mend shattered dreams.
The Candy Store Gingerbread battle:
Vikki once had to save Sarge Hawk from imprisonment in a candy store, called Kate’s Kandy, where Gingerbread Men and other beings made of candy and cookies reigned. Only equipped with a bow and arrows, Vikki defeated several gingerbread enemies, took down giant balloon pigs, and managed to free Hawk from the enemy’s sweet clutches.
The Crumb Forest:
Under a kitchen table, where crumbs gather like fallen leaves, the Army Men embarks on a foraging expedition. Their goal: to collect crumbs for the Great Ant Alliance. But beware the vacuum cleaner patrols, they suck up more than just dirt.
The “Real” Real World
Although the Real World is technically a planet, which was called “Planet Earth” by the extinct Humans, this planet is only a small part of the immensity that actually makes the Real World. So not only Planet Earth is the Real World, but the rest of planets around every star in the sky.
Usually only earth is visited by the Army Men, but this is only a planet rotating around a star, one of those tiny illuminated dots in the sky. The Earth Planet star and the planets surrounding it are called the “Sol System” or “Solar System”, where there are almost a dozen more of other planets, smaller and bigger than earth. And that’s just one star.
In the sky each star must contain planets. But that’s something really complex and difficult to explain, plus it would be very difficult for an Army Men to visit another planet, even the ones of the Sol System. There was only one occasion where Sarge was able to visit the Moon, the natural satellite that rotates above the Earth (which Plastic World’s version can also visible in the sky), thanks to Tina Tomorrow (Real World’s Moon was formerly called Tina’s Homeworld). But Tina was never saw again, either the Galactic Army Men. It was even believed that this moon was part of the Plastic World, but it was not like that.
The firmament of the Plastic World is very similar to that of the Real World, although it is difficult to elucidate given the atmospheric phenomena that may allow Plastic Soldiers to see or not see clearly what is beyond. But for this reason one of the theories about the other worlds is that they are not different worlds, but rather parallel worlds, similar to the Plastic World, that evolved differently (or something like that). Maybe a copy of the Human World.
Humans used to send “spaceships“, special vehicles to navigate outer space to Earth, and even set foot on the moon. But being able to build one of those vehicles and fly it would be a titanic task for the Army Men.
Plastic World also has stars and a moon visible from the surface, so it could be a version of Planet Earth, or some kind of imitation. But the same thing happens here, it’s impossible to go up there to find out.
The SECRET PROJECT of the Army Men Alliance

The Real World project is a joint research effort of the Army Men alliance to discover the secrets of existence and the other worlds. It is a research and technological development group, as well as philosophical debate.
