This was one of the last normal conflicts on the Plastic World
A common Green soldier leaded the Green Army in a vicious battle against the Tan nemesis.
He carefully guided his troops through a deadly barrage of enemy fire on over 16 missions covering 5 different terrains. Only the best military minds prevailed in that blazing battle of ground based infantry. Tons of weapons were at his disposal, blasting away with howitzers, shredded plastic with .50 caliber twin machine guns, or quietly speared the enemy with his razor-sharped bayonet. Never before had a plastic war reached this size and scale. Dived back into the trenches!. It was Real Combat, of Plastic Men.
Was one of the last normal conflicts on the Plastic World, with no interference of other world weapons or any external actor.

Real behind the game facts:
Army Men: World War is the first game of the World War series.
- Lush WWII themed environments including beaches, jungles, war-torn cities and abandoned countrysides.
- Following up on Army Men 3D’s original fast and furious multiplayer gameplay, Army Men® – World War introduces a “capture the flag” mode that features multiple computer-controlled enemy units.
- New WWII weapons add explosive firepower to your arsenal: howitzer, flame-thrower, bayonet, grenades, mortars, bazooka, .50 caliber twin machine gun, assault rifle.
- Overtake tanks, jeeps, and PT boats throughout your missions when only heavy artillery will do the job.
- Heavy emphasis on tactical action adds new strategic element to gameplay.
In the follow-up to the best-selling Army Men® 3D, this game focuses solely on combat in the Plastic World, with most of the missions being based on World War 2.
Some fans consider the World War games to be prequels to the main games (Army Men, Army Men II and Toys in Space) while others deem it to exist in its own timeline altogether. A third says that since no one declared its location in the canon/timeline, then assuming is a mistake.
It was released for the PlayStation and PC in 2000, however, both game versions are different.
The PS1 version of the game was promoted as a sequel of Army Men 3D even though Army Men 3D isn’t connected with World War’s plot. “In the follow-up to the best-selling Army Men® 3D, you lead the Green Army in a vicious battle against the Tan nemesis”

Multiplayer
PS1 version had 4 Multiplayer maps to fight to Capture the Flag:
- Mountain Mayhem
- Rubble, Rubble
- Waterfall
- Crazy Canyon
- And one extra map, a hidden gem in the game files that we activated in one of our mods, called “Problem in the Trenches”. Looks like it works correctly, so no idea why it was not included in the final game.
