Scorch was the flamethrower specialist from Sarge Hawk’s Bravo Company Commandos.
“We burn for them” – Scorch about the Green nation people
You’ve got to be a little nuts to be made out plastic and still love fire (Scorch is a lotta nuts). Sarge gave him custody of the flame thrower (he was setting fires around camp, anyway) so he could torch Tan soldiers until they bubble. He creeps out the rest of the squad by sleeping in a book of matches instead of a sleeping bag.
Scorch was a Bravo Company commando with one superheated goal: To hear every Tan soldier scream, every enemy melt and the smell of molten plastic. No wonder his bed is actually a box of matches.
In Army Men and Army Men II events, he was a soldier serving under The Green Colonel, then with Sarge. However, during this time Scorch was common Green Soldier much like Sarge, with no special importance.
Scorch: The Flamethrower Maverick
Bravo Company specialist known as Scorch. His tale was etched in molten plastic, and his flamethrower bore the hues of smoldering embers. Gather ’round, dear reader, as we unveil his history:
The Birth of Scorch:
Scorch emerged during the Tannic-Greeno conflicts, when the Plastic World was still finding its form. His plastic boots left ashes everywhere, and his eyes glowed with the intensity of a thousand fires.
Unlike other soldiers, Scorch was a frontline warrior. His strength lay in the flamethrower, a weapon that danced with fire and melted Tan Troopers into puddles of molten plastic.
Scorch was a unique unit to the Green Army. He excelled against infantry and structures but needed protection from anti-infantry units.

The Fiery Obsession:
It became famous in the barracks because his bed really was, a box of matches—a testament to his fiery obsession. For this reason they named him “Scorch”, because his companions always believed that he would end up burned in his sleep, and all that would be left of him at dawn would be a Green plastic pudle mass. He felt right at home with flames licking his boots.
The Intelligence Specialist:
His childish demeanor masked a keen mind—an intelligence officer who saw beyond the flames. Scorch wasn’t just about firepower. He excelled at receiving intelligence on the battlefield.
Super Soldier program:
Scorch was the second to be subjected to the Super Soldier program, with not so favorable results. He was, at the same time, the first to be subjected to this experiment uninjured and with no need, in contrast to the rest of the program members of that time.
It turned out that the serum not only increased his physical and specialist abilities, but also his mental behavior patterns, resulting in a compulsive pyromaniac mania. Basically Scorch became an uncontrolled arsonist with a strong need to set fire any Tan soldier who crosses his path. He was the first and only one to undergo the experiment voluntarily.
Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes events:
Scorch is Sgt. Hawk’s flamethrower specialist whose childish manner is well balanced with his hot topics involving a flamethrower, which he feels right at home with. He is also shown to be adept at receiving intelligence on the battlefield as he is the one who first warns Hawk (and by proxy the rest of the Plastic World) about the dangerous effects of Plastrification.
During this events, after Shrap is rescued, Sarge is sent to Fort Plastro to destroy a Portal. Sarge then learns that Vikki is with the Tan Army as he gets thrown in a Sandbox to die. As he fights his way through, he finds Scorch. Scorch tells him that Vikki is deceiving Plastro and tells him about Plastro’s plans and the effects of Plastrification on the Army Men Toykind.
Plastic Surgery?
Some time before Sarge’s Heroes 2, Scorch and the rest of the Bravo Company Commandos changed their appearance substantially (although some did not notice). Everyone except Sgt. Hawk.
Theories and gossip say that this was because they underwent the Super Soldier 2.0 experiment to try to fix their serious attitudinal and mental flaws. But this does not seem to be true, since after this change its particularities only became more accentuated. Scorch was one of those who suffered the smallest visual changes, although his lack of uniform is almost criminally disruptive compared to the soldier’s dress code, by wearing only a vest top and keeping only his pants and military boots. Being a soldier who wields the flamethrower, this may have been convenient for him to better fulfill his role. Particularities that few were allowed. But more than likely this was because he cared little and didn’t care.
Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2 events:
While Scorch plays a minor role in both the Playstation and N64 versions of thi historic events, in the Game Boy Color version he is one of the three main characters alongside Riff and Vikki Grimm who assist Sgt. Hawk on fighting against a Tan resurgence led by General Plastro. This events notably shows that he is adept at commandeering vehicles and aircraft.
Army Men Advance
Another battle was fought. Previous attempts to discover Plastro’s plans were thwarted. Riff was captured and Scorch disappeared. Sources informed to the Green Army that Scorch was still free, but the Tans were rapidly closing in. Hawk & Vikki fought through Tan defenses to reach him.
Omega Soldier Experiment
Army Men: RTS events:
Scorch is a unique unit in the Green Army. He works well against infantry and structures but he will need protection from anti-infantry units.
Army Men: Sarge’s War events:
In his last appearance, Scorch is among the victims of Lord Malice’s bombing of Greentown in the Operation Vengeance.

Legacy of Flames:
In his last appearance, Scorch was among the victims of Lord Malice’s bombing of Greentown in Army Men: Sarge’s War.
Scorch’s valor transcended battles. He tended to candle flames in forgotten corners. His flames dance not only across bedroom floors but through the annals of legend—a Plastic World’s eternal blaze who inspired many after him.
