Throughout his few appearances, Dr. Madd had created various inventions and monsters.
Dr. Madd, the enigmatic scientist whose experiments often blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. While his work remains
shrouded in mystery, let’s explore the curious case of some of his cryptic creations.
For his own purposes or to advance the offensives of the Tan Republic, Dr. Madd proved to be a mad lunatic but really capable of creating bioplastic weapons that no one has ever managed to create before, not even today.
Dr. Madd’s laboratory teemed with secrets: bees, zombies, spiders, and chimeric abominations. Whether he seeks enlightenment or chaos, only the plastic winds know.
His Creations:
Zombies:
In Army Men II events, Dr. Madd constructed a massive zombie-making factory on a set of small islands that was personal hideout, that churns out plastic zombies. These undead soldiers roam the battlefield, resilient and relentless. Their creation involves a special plastic mold, and Dr. Madd’s base becomes ground zero for their eerie existence.
Madd had captured an elderly soldier whom Sarge was sent to rescue though Madd himself escaped just before he could be captured. In the found films from those events, he appears operating on the remains of the traitorous Major Mylar. This film, however foreboding, they seem never to have materialized in any form afterward, suggesting that he simply used Mylar’s plastic to create more zombies.
Spiders:
Present in Army Men: Sarges Heroes events, Dr. Madd constructed a machine for General Plastro that transformed prisoners of war into spider’s. Among the victims of this transformation process include various soldiers from the Green, Red and Grey Nations. Only by the intervention of Sgt. Hawk and Shrap was the machine destroyed. Some of these spiders remained in the vicinity of his Dr. Madd’s personal castle.
Plastrification Serums:
Dr. Madd created two serums: Plastrification & Anti-Plastrification serums each served as an agent and counter agent against the effects of Plastrification. But it is really unknown if he created any other serum. Notably, the counter agent could bring to life regular inanimate toys in the Real World as if they had lived in the Plastic World. While originally created for the Tan Republic, the serums eventually fell into the hands of the Green Nation and presumably was distributed as a vaccine to the various nations.
Frankenstein style bio-plastic weapons:
You will encounter both natural and unnatural life as you make your way through the Toyverse. Most are dangerous, many are lethal. Do not misjudge them. The mutant strains the Insane Gray Doctor has created are programmed to attack you on sight. They will do so until destroyed, or, until they destroy you. It is believed that more strains are to come from the hands of the doctor than what has already been encountered.
In Army Men Air Tactics events, Dr. Madd takes experimentation to new heights. He combines Green soldiers with bugs, creating bizarre hybrid creatures. We can see how Dr. Madd has a complete operation of trafficking insects brought from the Real World, which he uses by removing and adding parts of other insects or even plastic soldiers, to which he also assembles mounted weapons. The Army Men he uses could be assumed to be prisoners of war. Considering this, Dr. Madd was able to put together parts of plastic beings from his world and living beings from the other world, the giant world, and manage to form a new type of being: half living being, half Army Men.
These bio-plastic mutants serve as a testament to Dr. Madd’s twisted genius. For this experiments Madd was filled with War Crimes. His bald head and glasses are glimpsed in Tan Army news films, revealing the mind behind these eerie creations.
Grey Super Soldiers:
Doctor Madd’s army of Tan and Grey soldiers, many of them enhanced super soldiers. Currently composed not only of fanatical Army Men and bounty hunters, but also other toys.
These and other factions are currently united in one faction: The Tin Foil Faction
It was reported that during Sarge’s Heroes 2 campaign, inside Dr. Madd’s Castle, there was some hardened G1 Grey Soldiers, much more resistant than normal Army Men. This was clearly an advancement from previous Dr. Madd attempts to make Super Soldiers.
