The Premise:

In a covert laboratory (GAARD), scientists splice DNA from the strongest and most skilled soldiers to create the ultimate warrior—the Omega Soldier. This genetically modified super soldier possesses unparalleled strength and weapon skills, making him the Tan army’s most formidable high-tech threat.

The Origin:

The story begins with a dark and ominous tone, revealing the origin of the mysterious Omega Soldier. Through a detailed lengthy cinematic sequences, we learn that the Omega Soldier has been biogenetically engineered in a secret lab, granting him special powers to combat the evil Tan Army.

Set some time after the events of Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes, this genetically modified super soldier composed of DNA spliced from all the members of Bravo Company Commandos nicknamed the Omega Soldier is being transferred from GAARD science facility by helicopter, to a training facility.

His creation involves DNA splicing from all six members of Bravo Company Commandos, resulted in a unique blend of abilities that regular Green Army soldiers do not possed.

The Ambush:

The chopper is ambushed by two Tan choppers, crash-landing and killing everybody aboard except for the Omega Soldier, which it inadvertently awakens. Shot down and left for dead behind enemy lines, it’s up to him to stop the Tan Army, taking advantage of the fact that everyone thinks they are going through a moment of weakness without Plastro, causing a one-man rampage against Tan forces.

It’s now up to you to stop the Tan Army and thwart their sinister plans

The little plastic soldiers are warring again (as always, it’s the Greens versus the Tans), but this time the Greens might have come up with the weapon that will win the war. The little Green guys have taken their best warriors, infused them full of crazy chemicals, and turned them into a superplasticman battle machines that are ready to tear the Tans to bits.

This decidedly toy-violence-heavy installment of the ongoing Army Men history is a faithful story, boasting intense action sequences that will have you sweating bullets. Little plastic figures has never been this explosive.

The Journey:

The Omega Soldier fights through hordes of Tan, Grey and Cyan soldiers, showcasing his unique abilities.

His mission: to survive Field Marshal Tannenburg deadly forces, unravel the Tan Army’s secrets, and prevent their destructive agenda. Along the way, he encounters challenges, treacherous terrain, and relentless enemies.

“Remember, soldier, the fate of the Green Nation rests on your shoulders. Fight bravely, wield your unique abilities, and emerge victorious against the Tan Army!”

Green Rogue enemies:

The soldiers of the Tan Army were Omega’s primary enemy. Occasionally, small squads from the Blue and Gray armies also attacked. The Blue Army has often allied with the Tan and is famed for its devious spies. The unpredictable Gray Army has been known to sell military technology (and soldiers) to the highest bidder.

– Infantry men

Riflemen
These soldiers carry Rifles and are determined to find and take out the enemy.

Grenadiers
These plastic soldiers are experts with Grenade Launchers. Grenade
explosions can be lethal either by getting hit directly, or by getting hit by their explosion blast.

Bazooka men
These units are well-trained with the Bazooka. One Bazooka shell can sometimes stop Omega cold.

Flamethrower men
These units use the Flamethrower to sweep through enemy troops.

– Vehicles

Tank
The Tank is a moderately paced vehicle. Its main gun fires a powerful explosive projectile. It will also run you over if you stay in its path!

Jeep
The jeep is quicker and more agile than the Tank. It is equipped with a machine gun.

Half Track
This is a standard armored transport for ground units, and is armed with a machine gun.

PT Boat
This vehicle is a force in both oceans and shallow river waters. It is equipped with a high caliber Machine Gun. Watch out for these while using the Hovercraft!

– Bosses

At the end of some scenarios, Omega Soldier encountered diabolical Boss toys. Plastro had brought each Boss over from the Real World using a portal between human world and ours. These Bosses represented the greatest challenge to Omega’s mission, as each had been instructed to stop at nothing to defeat him. From submarines to gnomes, the greatest threat was the Robochanger “Megalomek”.

Army Men: Green Rogue (or Army Men: Omega Soldier) is a videogame developed by 3DO and released on the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 on March 2001. This game is an arcade-style shooter, making the gameplay differ slightly from previous games.

The action-packed third-person shooter with a sense of humor keeps on rolling with this combative installment. Flamethrowers, grenade launchers, insane bazookas, and other crazy weapons get thrown into the mix before all is said and done. This decidedly violence-heavy installment of the ongoing series is a faithful port, boasting intense animation sequences, and gameplay that will have you sweating bullets. It’s certainly not a realistic war simulation, but that’s really not the point, is it? Playing with little plastic figures has never been this explosive.
