Malice’s Roughnecks

Deceased Lord Malice’s followers renegade group

“Plastro made his last mistake. The Tan Army will never surrender to the Green Army” – Lord Malice

This renegade group was originally an anti-green movement composed of Tan soldiers and civilians, but is currently composed of various nefarious types of extremist anti-establishment toys with several aligned ideologies.

Lord Malice’s original renegade army, carrying out his legacy

Malcie had employed a number of mercenaries, many were former Tan soldiers who could not stand the thought of peace and tolerance to the Green color. Be vigilant in attacking these and other enemies. Here are some of the forces Malice had send against the Green Nation.

Lord Malice’s original group of renegades, who only a few G1 plastic soldiers remnants survived and carried on his legacy.

This group is still active, roaming the Microverse, and although some call them the “Tan Army” the reality is that they are a defective faction separated from the Tan Army that is not recognized or approved by the current Tan Nation.

Originally the most recalcitrantly intolerant and extremist group within Plastro’s ranks, they defected from the Tan Army when Plastro surrendered to the Green Nation, back in 2004 (RWT) during the campaign known as Sarge’s War.

Currently, although they focus on fighting the Green Army, their secondary objective is to destroy the current Tan Nation, which they consider impure by tolerating and allying themselves with the Greens.

Everyone thought he would be just another ordinary villain. Everyone was wrongโ€ฆ

Once a loyal Colonel of the Tan Nation, Malice was severely wounded (allegedly was Sgt. Hawk) and was rebuilt by the Tan Army, who pieced him back together, gave him a mask and a replacement weaponized arm.

Colonel Lord Malice was a vengeful and menacing commander, which was took very lightly at the time by the Green Nation. They thought he was just another crazy Tan plastic soldier, of lower importance than any of Plastro’s henchmen, and that was what caught them off guard.

A short time ago, the Green Army found out that Malice bore a personal grudge against Sgt. Hawk, for unknown reasons up today.

Malice chain of events

Near the end of the war between the Green Nation and Tan Republic, General Plastro intended to finally surrender to the Green after his failed assault on Greentown.

Col. Grimm tasked Sarge on seeking out Malice, who had stolen Army Men infantry molds one month prior; this gave him the capacity to create new soldiers and became a major threat in a short amount of time. Even more so by the fact that among these molds were those from which the Bravo Company Commandos were molded, including that of Hawk, Vikki Grimm and Jack Grimm himself.

Lord Malice & (allegedly) Little Man

Lord Malice felt Plastro was a weak leader and had other plans. He began gathering soldiers for a new rogue faction.

Sarge left Bravo Company Commandos behind, allowing them to relax at Greentown and he made plans to meet them at the upcoming peace ceremony.

Meanwhile, Lord Malice discusses plans on delivering a “Vengeance Device” with a Tan soldier (allegedly was Little Man), who confirms that the device was delivered. Later, after Sgt. Hawk discovers blueprints for a bomb, Malice would contact Sgt. Hawk via radio and taunt him, subtly revealing that the bomb was hidden in the peace statue in Greentown. When Sarge demands to know why Malice is doing this, he simply responds that he only wishes to see Sarge’s pain as his squad incinerated before his eyes.

Lord Malice reveals himself to Hawk

Sgt. Hawk runs through the portal and attempts to warn everyone in Greentown, but was too late. The bomb exploded, destroying Greentown and killing everyone present. Ultimately, Malice’s plans succeed as Sarge wanders aimlessly through the mess of melted plastic and dead soldiers and sees Col. Grimm and all the members of his commando squad, and later, Vikki.

After this, Malice would send his rouge faction (the future Malice’s Roughnecks) to scavenge Greentown for usable plastic to remold into new soldiers, as he would also find new sources of plastic to further enhance his army, and later, Malice would begin producing super soldiers, while Sgt. Hawk would make taking revenge against Malice his number one priority.

Sarge reaches Lord Malice’s fortress, which features a portal leading to a kitchen where Malice’s HQ was. Eventually, Sarge finds Malice and the two engage in battle. Initially firing at Sarge atop an elevated platform at the center of the room and sending waves of super soldiers at him, Malice leap down after sustaining enough damage. Fatally wounded, an angrily Malice tells Sarge to finish him off already. Malice uttered that he wanted Sarge to suffer the way he did and to pay for what happened that day, before finally succumbing to his wounds and dying.

Malice’s motivations

In addition to the Tan’s usual hatred of the Greens, it is speculated that Malice was rebuilt after being severely injured by Hawk, which motivated him to take revenge on him. But in subsequent leaked information it was known that Malice was a former Green Army officer (of which the name was never given).

This latter data increased the speculated possibilities to a vindictive hatred against Green Nation, which made him take revenge against central figures of that nation. Also he could be a vengeful former Grimm officer, or hatred towards the Tan and an extremist opposition against the peace between both nations, or a personal revenge against some of the victims. At the end of events Malice managed to distract Sergeant Hawk to leave him out of reach of the terrorist attack, which caused Hawk couldn’t stop the events. For this reason, Malice is considered as the only military and antagonist leader of the hero who found a weakness in the mythical indestructible armor of Sgt. Hawk: separate him from his own plastic men with a great distraction, large enough to make him fall into the trap. He proved that it was more factual to defeat him with a temporary impossibility than with a measure of military force or conventional tactics.

It is also notorious the fact that Malice had stolen the Army Men molds of the Green Army, which caused the proliferation of versions of Hawk’s heroes to be later available for other nations, changing the balance of conflict. Although this changed when the Green Army recovered its molding, every nation later made their own hero molds based on this Green Army molds, starting the golden age of heroes.

Behind the scenes:

Lord Malice (formerly Major Gooding) is the main antagonist in Army Men: Sarge’s War. He bears a grudge against Sgt. Hawk as he perceives that Sarge had abandoned him during a mission.

Colonel Lord Malice is a vengeful and menacing commander. Once a loyal Major to the Green Nation, he was on a mission in the Real World, and he and a small squad had just reached their exfil point when they were ambushed by the Tan. Gooding was shot three times, losing an arm in the process, and was knocked into the drain of a kitchen sink. He watched helplessly as every unit in his squad was killed except for Sgt. Hawk. When a helicopter arrived, Gooding desperately called out to Sarge, who couldn’t hear him; Sarge then proceeded to board the helicopter and leave the area, believing Gooding was dead. Furious at being left behind, Gooding pledged allegiance to the Tan Republic and was rebuilt by the Tan, who pieced him back together and gave him a mask and a replacement weaponized arm.

When Sgt. Hawk reaches Lord Malice’s fortress, which features a portal leading to a kitchen that Sarge immediately remembers. In a flashback, he remembers the fateful mission where the squad he was in, led by Major Gooding, was ambushed.
