Dr. Gray had a special liking for the symphonic piece he called “Der Zauberlehrling”, of which no details of origin or authors were ever known, until the late discovery of the Real World. “L’Apprenti sorcier” was a symphonic poem brought from the Real World, by the French composer Paul Dukas composed in 1897 and based on an ancient writing of the same name by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a fantasy poem written in 1797. The poem is a ballad in 14 stanzas.
