Mines are explosive weapon traps that can be hidden underground
Mines should be used in areas such as roads or where there is a lot of moving activity. When placed, a mine will detonate when something comes in contact with it. Keep in mind that mines are buried underground and will be invisible. The only way to detect these hidden weapons is with a Minesweeper.
World War, Army Men, Army Men 2, Toys in Space:
Land Mines appear in several missions as dangers that must be cleared. Plastic Soldiers planted their own mines as they found the Land Mine ammo, or removing the enemy mines when they found a Minesweeper tool. Without the Minesweeper, the Army Men cannot see enemy mines, but can still destroy them with explosives. Their mines appeared on the satelital map to avoid stepping on them. Each mine cost 10 Plastic units.
Other campaigns:
In Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes, Minefields are found in several levels. If Sarge walks into a mine, he will lose most of his health.
In the mission Riff, Sarge gained access to mines to compensate for the lack of bazookas and other explosive weapons for most of the mission. He used them to disable the Tan tanks, preventing them from moving. Since the tank’s turret could no longer rotate 360 degrees, this rendered it unable to attack Sarge while he was behind it.
Army Men RTS:
The Mines were built by the Minelayer and deals a high amount of AOE damage to all enemy units caught within its blast. It is destroyed instantly if an enemy Minesweeper detected them. Cost: 50 Plastic Units
